Crewe Locomotive Works
1840 - Closed
Overview
The Grand Junction Railway planted its works at Crewe and the town grew around them. For over a century Crewe built famous classes from the Duchess Coronations to the last steam, then diesels and electrics. The heritage centre beside the station keeps the story alive.
