Quarry Bank Mill
1784 - Museum
Overview
Samuel Gregs water powered cotton mill on the River Bollin at Styal, one of the best preserved Georgian mills anywhere. Its 1830s iron framed extensions were early fireproof construction, and the surviving apprentice house tells the story of the pauper children who worked the machines.
