Pullman Works Chicago
1880 - National monument
Overview
George Pullmans railcar factory inside a planned company town on Chicago South Side, complete with brick fronts, a hotel, and rents set by the company. The brutal wage cuts of 1893 sparked the Pullman strike and boycott that changed federal labor law. The town is a national historical park.
