Overview
The Burghers Brewery of Plzen, where Bavarian brewer Josef Groll produced the first golden pale lager in 1842 using soft local water, Saaz hops and pale malt. The pilsner style it created conquered the world. Sandstone cellars beneath the brewery still hold oak lagering barrels.
