Lockheed Burbank Works
1928 - Closed
Overview
Home of the famous Skunk Works founded by Kelly Johnson in 1943. The P-38 Lightning, U-2 spyplane, SR-71 Blackbird, and F-117 stealth fighter were developed around this campus. During WWII the entire plant was camouflaged to look like a quiet suburb from the air.
