Ford Highland Park Plant
1910 - Partly preserved
Overview
Birthplace of the moving assembly line, 1913, where chassis assembly time collapsed from over 12 hours to about 93 minutes. Albert Kahns reinforced concrete frame and walls of glass defined the modern factory look, and Model T output soared past the dreams of rivals.
