Borsig Works Berlin
1837 - Closed
Overview
August Borsig beat Stephenson imports in a famous 1844 trial and his Berlin works became one of the largest locomotive builders of the 19th century, exporting engines worldwide. The Moabit site is long redeveloped, but the name marks the city to this day.
